Okay – I'm Hooked, How Does It Work?
Unlike uptight and stuffy “classes,” think of it as more of a hands-on workshop! While most of the worshops are held in my home in Yokosuka, if you have another location in mind, for example a private party, I am definitely open to that! (Check Kurabiiki's FB page for the latest schedule.) During the classes, I give tips on baking the cookies, speak about the “do's and don'ts” of cookie decorating, and of course the tips and tricks that I have learned over the last six years. Participants do everything from making their own icing to getting it to the perfect consistency for decorating their cookies. Afterwards they learn the different techniques for icing their cookie. I encourage imagination when it comes to cookie decorating when it comes to color and design! I have samples on hand, but I'm around to give suggestions and help when needed, but everyone creates their own design. At the very end, participants are totally blown away by what they have created!
Alright, How Can I Book A Party?
So what do you need? Just gather 10 of your best friends and invite them to a cookie decorating party! Classes are same prices as the ones I host - $45 per person (Yokosuka) and $55 (Yokohama and Tokyo), BUT totally FREE for the host! The techniques that are learned in my class are invaluable, and will allow you and your friends to create incredibly special cookies for your next event, whether it be a birthday, baby shower, wedding, etc. You can even pass your knowledge down to your little ones in the kitchen. And when the holidays roll around, guess who's going to have the best cookies around?
Check out Kurabiiki’s Facebook page to see the cookies that participants created during Cookie Decorating 101 class. Keep in mind that 99% of them have never decorated cookies before!
Booking
Reservations for private parties must be made at least a month in advance. My schedule is quickly filling up, so if you're looking for a special date, don't wait! Book your party now! Let me know if you have a theme in mind (wedding, birthday, baby shower, etc) or you would like to stick with the seasonal themes I have every month. It's all up to you!
